Branch Chief-Response Projects & Educational Outreach Webmaster, (BC-REW)

The National Response Directorate is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Auxiliarist to serve as Branch Chief, Response Projects and Educational Outreach Webmaster (BC-REW). This position supports the Directorate’s education and outreach mission by helping ensure that Response Directorate web pages, links, annual workshop materials, and training resources remain current, accurate, and easy to access.

In addition to General Duties, the Branch Chief, Response Projects and Educational Outreach Web Branch, under the general direction and supervision of the Chief, Response Projects and Educational Outreach Division, shall have the following responsibilities:

  • Review the National Response Directorate website on an ongoing basis for currency, accuracy, broken links, outdated materials, and needed content updates.
  • Update and maintain links and training materials related to Telecommunications, Aviation, and Surface Operations, including web pages, PowerPoint files, PDFs, and other documents.
  • Coordinate with Response Directorate education staff, division chiefs, and subject matter experts to support timely dissemination of National Response Directorate initiatives, training materials, and annual workshop resources.
  • Assist with the posting, archiving, replacement, or removal of Response Directorate resources so Auxiliarists can easily locate current operational education materials.
  • Support the organization and formatting of web content and downloadable resources to improve usability and consistency across the Response Directorate website.
  • Serve as a web-content coordination point for Response Directorate staff and coordinate with Information Services or other web-support channels as needed.
  • Provide brief status updates on website currency, pending content needs, link-maintenance issues, and completed web/resource updates.
  • Attend scheduled meetings as requested.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications Required: 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple program areas and follow up on pending action items.
  • Comfort working with web content, links, PowerPoint presentations, PDF files, and Microsoft Office documents.
  • Familiarity with the Auxiliary WOW platform and working knowledge of HTML/CSS are required.
  • Ability to review information for currency, clarity, consistency, and ease of use.
  • Team-oriented approach and willingness to support Telecommunications, Aviation, Surface Operations, and Response Education staff.
  • Prior web, communications, training, or documentation experience is strongly preferred.
