Branch Chief/Branch Chief Assistants

The Branch Chief/Branch Assistants – Will assist in administrative investigations that are conducted within the parameters of the Coast Guard Investigative Manual and within the parameters of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Manual. In addition to these general duties, the Branch Chief assists, represents, and acts on behalf of the Division Chief as and when required.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In addition to General Duties, the Branch Chief/Branch Assistant, under the general direction and supervision of the Division Chief, Administrative Investigations
  • Write investigative reports under strict reporting timeline(s) and in accordance with standardized report templates.
  • Communicate/respond in a timely manner with Division Chiefs, Branch Chiefs and all other appointed leaders in the Directorate.
  • Be responsible for the direction, guidance and training of any Branch Assistants in charge of investigations
  • Develop training guides, PowerPoint presentations, FAQ documents and how-to guides to support the directorate staff to include their elected leadership
  • Develop any forms and resources needed to simplify and standardize staff positions
  • Assist other Administrative Investigators in evaluating and updating policies, procedures, forms
  • Have a scheduled meeting (on-line or phone call) monthly
  • Write investigative reports
  • Supply content for the Administrative Investigations Directorate website
