BRANCH ASSISTANT – WEB COMPLIANCE (BA-UCW)

The User Support and Services (U) Department is seeking two additional members to serve as Branch Assistants in the Web Compliance Branch of the Communications Services Support Division. We are totally committed to providing outstanding and positive customer service assistance to the CS and bridge officers with whom we interact. Under the general direction and supervision of the Branch Chief, Web Compliance, these officers shall have the following responsibilities:

  • Web Site Compliance Review – Responsible for managing the periodical reviews of previously approved unit web sites for continued compliance with national requirements.
  • Follow Up on Web Site Issues – Flags issues on those sites that don’t meet the national standards and coordinates with the BC-UCW to help the CS officer correct the issues to maintain their site’s national approval.
  • Reporting – Advise the BC-UCW on web compliance issues.
  • Report to the BC-UCW on a monthly basis.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of Auxiliary Web standards.
  • Operational experience with the WOW application is definitely a plus.
  • Knowledge of HTML and general Web page processing is desirable.
  • Firsthand knowledge of website security is helpful.
  • Programming proficiency is not required.

Of equal importance to the technical skills is the ability to work one-on-one with other staff members and the WOW user community. Having a “can do” approach along with excellent verbal and written skills are essential since contact is made both via telephone and email to the user community.
