Branch Chief-Culinary Assistance Media, (BC-HCM)
In addition to General Duties, the Branch Chief-Culinary Assistance Media, under the general direction and supervision of the Division Chief, Culinary Assistance (DVC-HC), shall have the following responsibilities:
- Working with the AUXCA leadership team, maintaining the Division’s presence on the WEB and on various social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.
- Promote the activities of all AUXCAs, highlighting significant events. Market the Division and spotlight members serving the Coast Guard and Auxiliary while performing AUXCA duties using web and social media effectively and within the guidelines established by the Auxiliary and the Coast Guard.
- Maintain a repository of administrative material (Standard Operating Procedure, training PowerPoints, etc.) on the national website for access by AUXCA members with access restrictions as appropriate.
- Assist the Branch Chief Instruction (BC-HCI) with the design and promulgation of training material.
- Assist the BC-HCI and the DVC-HC with maintenance and updating of AUXCA material on the National Training Classroom (Moodle) site.
- In consultation with the Branch Chief – Media (BC-HCM) present a unified message about the AUXCA department across all forms of media, printed and electronic.
- Any other assignments as agreed upon with the DVC-HC.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Excellent working knowledge and experience with various web publishing platforms including but not limited to WOW and HTML.
- Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
- Familiarity with Coast Guard and Auxiliary publication guidelines and policies.
- Familiarity with the Culinary Assistance Standard Operating Procedure and the Culinary Assistance program as well. Certification as an AUXCA-1 is desired but not mandatory.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
