Branch Assistant-Social Media, (BA-BRSA)

The Recreational Boating Safety Outreach Directorate is seeking candidates for multiple open positions to strengthen our social media presence. Branch Assistants for Social Media will work under the general supervision and Direction of the Branch Chief, Social Media, and, in addition to General Duties, shall be responsible for:

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws impacting the USCG Auxiliary social media presence, including all relevant USCG policies.
  • Creating new social media content.
  • Collaborating with Auxiliary members and helping them create new social media content.
  • Sharing social media content from other sources that align with USCG missions and priorities.
  • Monitoring and responding to security threats.
  • Performing traffic analysis and reporting results.
  • Collaborating with others and participating in special projects within the B as needed.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Desire and willingness to work in, and be part of, a mutually supportive environment focused on recreational boating safety.
  • Desire to create communications tools that positively influence recreational boating safety.
  • Strong social media skills, including the ability to create content and positively influence others through content creation. A commitment to ongoing development of these skills is essential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with website end-users and contributors.
